We are having a Throwdown at the gym this fine Saturday morning.  CrossFit Ridgecrest vs. CrossFit Bishop!!!  We are keeping it pretty casual but are definitely going to be going after it to be the ones that come out on top.  We have a team of women that consists of Krista Cooper, Keri Davis, Amy Zappia, and Sarah Malloy.  The men’s team is Jeremy Masters, Adam Marcellin, Nate Derr, and yours truly Colin Broadwater.  Our judges will be Ian Nielson and Paul Elia.  The teams will compete in three workouts separated by a short break after each.  We will be making the decisions on the details of the workouts and getting the athletes warmed up starting at 8:15 and should be all wrapped up before noon.  

The workouts will look something like this:

As a team, complete for time:
75 Back squats 135/95 pounds
50 Pull-ups
25 Shoulder to overhead 95/65 pounds

75 Box jumps
 5 Rope climbs
25 Shoulder to overhead 95/65

75 Overhead squats 65/45 pounds
50 Pull ups
25 Shoulder to overhead 95/65 pounds

75 Box jumps
 5 Rope climbs
25 Shoulder to overhead 95/65 pounds

75 Back squats 155/105 pounds
50 Pull ups
25 Shoulder to overhead 135/95 pounds

75 Box jumps
 5 Rope climbs
25 Shoulder to overhead 135/95 pounds

One member of each team must be resting at all times and each block of three movements must be completed before moving onto the next…

Then,

With one barbell per team, each team member must work up to a heavy set of two front squats.  Total working poundage will be added for a score.

Then,

Annie-Shuttle Sprint, Karen-Shuttle sprint, Jones Crawl-Shuttle sprint, Fran-shuttle sprint

    Errr, yea that's nice for you guys, but what about the rest of us animals that want to get our mad pump on? Where's our 8:00am /5:00pm class? What, are we tax paying peasants just supposed to stand around and oogle at the crossfit elite while we atrophy ? Yea… ok… I'll just go ahead make sure my rags are nice and pressed for the "big day" tomorrow!
